Notes

Kreisler’s Music Library is the lists of classical music lives published on YouTube. The processes of the selections are as follows;

———–

Selection of composers and works

・ Trying to list as many composers and works as possible

・ If you find my missing something and your hidden-gem peaces please do let me know!

Artists / players

・ Chose not only best-in-class artists but various such as youth, community and cross-border players

・ Enjoy same works with different players, orchestras and conductors

・ Enjoy passionate / dedicated plays of youth / community players – not perfect like famous ones but feel “something”

・ Added cross-border players and alternative versions of works so you could find new world of these works

・ Rehearsals and documentaries to be added with several works

Quality of video / audio

・ Chose high quality videos and audios – relatively newer ones say after 2000

・ Included some old “must-watch” videos such as Bernstein’s Mahler and Glenn Gould’s Bach

・ Avoid videos with fixed point camera – boring to watch

Order of listing

・ Alphabetical order of composers

・ Category order with Symphony, Orchestral, Concerto, Chamber, Instrumental, Song/Opera then Sacred works

・ Orders of links – randomly ordered but top 3-5 videos would be my favorites and newly update ones

Video availability bias

・ Some artists upload their videos very actively and others are not… so you could find regular names

・ You would find certain names of some groups supported by European broadcasting firms such as hr^Sinfonieorchester, EDR Sinfonieorchester, SWR Symphonyorchester and L’Orchestre philharmoniwue de Radio France

Personal taste bias

・ It would be very difficult to completely avoid my personal tastes… so I tried to do so with my best efforts

・ I find a lot of great works, artists and performances through creating this list so I will write my blogs to introduce my happy experiences going forward!
